or Fall Conference. Membership must be completed

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES
ACTIVE MEMBERS – Any governmental officials, whether elected or appointed, in public jurisdictions of the United States government, state government, local city, or a special district in Texas.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERS—Any persons not eligible for active membership but who are interested in the furtherance and
enhancement of the practice of governmental finance.
FACULTY/STUDENT MEMBERS – Individuals employed in higher education or full-time students enrolled in a college or
university.
RETIREE MEMBERS – A member of GFOAT who, upon retiring from the profession, desires to maintain a relationship with the Association.
HONORARY MEMBERS – Bestowed by the active membership on any individual whose record of professional accomplishment in the public finance field makes him/her an outstanding example for all finance officers, and whose contributions to the profession qualifies him/her for such designation.
HOTEL INFORMATION
The Renaissance Austin Hotel, located at 9721 Arboretum Boulevard in Austin, has extended a room rate of $169. In order to receive this special rate, your reservations must be made by Friday, March 23. To make a reservation, please call the hotel at 512-343-2626 or 800-468-3571 and mention that you are registered for the GFOAT Spring Institute. If you encounter any problems, please call the hotel directly at 512-343-2626. The Renaissance Austin Hotel is a non-smoking facility.
CANCELLATION AND SUBSTITUTION
If you are registered and cannot attend, we encourage you to send a substitute. If you cannot send a substitute, a $45
cancellation fee will be assessed if written cancellation is e-mailed to acct@tml.org by Monday, April 2. No refunds will be honored after that date.
MONDAY NIGHT NETWORKING EVENT
If you are a registered GFOAT conference delegate, your badge will admit you to the dinner at the County Line on the Lake Restaurant. You only need to purchase a ticket if your guest is not registered for the conference. No refunds for these tickets will be given after Monday, April 2.
CONTINUING EDUCATION
Please note that Different hours are reflected for CGFO AND CPA CREDITS! As a measure of leadership and involvement, CGFO credits are allowed as continuing education for breakfasts, meals, committee meetings, and board meetings. However, most CPA members will not be able to recognize these hours as continuing education. An application has been submitted to the State Board of Accountancy for CEU/CPE continuing education units. No prerequisites are required for any session.
CONFIRMATIONS/EDUCATION
Conference badges will be mailed in advance. If you do not receive your packet in the mail, you can pick up your registration materials on site. REMEMBER: BRING YOUR BADGE AND ANY OPTIONAL TICKETS YOU ORDERED TO THE CONFERENCE.
CGFO TESTING
The Certified Government Finance Officer’s exam will be offered from 3:00 – 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 15, at the Renaissance Austin Hotel. If you are interested in sitting for the test during this time, please contact Suzette Clair
at suzette@gfoat.org or Becky Brooks at blbrooks@gfoat.org. Also, CGFO Committee Co-Chair Micah Grau will host a study group meeting at the Renaissance Austin Hotel on April 15 from 10:00 a.m. – Noon.

GOLF
The Bruce Testa Semiannual Golf Outing is scheduled for Sunday, April 15, at Avery Ranch Golf Club, located at 10500 Avery Club Drive in Austin. Tee times will begin between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. The cost is $69 per person, which includes the green fee, cart, and a small bucket of balls. The golf outing is limited to 36 golfers.
